What do you like about Wacky?

Since I’ve been given the all-clear to promote Wacky on IG, I decided to make some special posts about it. So, thought I’d get one of those testimonial type things from you guys.

I won’t be revealing your names unless you have an IG username that you won’t mind I put at the end of the quote.

Tell me

  1. How you found the site
  2. What you like about it
  3. Tell me if you have an IG username you’d like me to put after the quote. Otherwise, I’ll just say “anon Wacky”.
  4. Why should someone join Wacky?
  5. Where do you share your writing if at all?

Was recommended it by another writer who I was reading after.

No pressure, decent interaction, not dead outside self-promotion, not a lot of in-fighting, but allows some disagreement.

Yeah, I don’t have one.

A Wattpad friend told me about it, I think, or I saw a link circulated around way back in 2020, when the forums had just started. It looked nice and welcoming, so I stayed

I may be biased, but…the mods :joy: Even though we haven’t had as much time lately, all the mods have always been a bunch of cool peeps, dedicated to making the forum as welcoming a space as possible, without needlessly “punishing” people. It’s helped that CJ has drafted the best rules for us. They’re a great guideline for keeping things civil.

My account is private now but you can tag me: alcohol_caffeine

And thank you :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Someone either mentioned this site to me or recommended me to this site after the fall of the Wattpad forums. I forgot who that person was though.

Chatting with people, making online buddies, learning about people in ways I didn’t know I could, and procrastinating when I should be writing. LOL!

Obviously I can’t include everyone in one post XD I’m going to spread it out.

Why should someone join Wacky?

I mean if they want to, they can come for the nice atmosphere and the chill vibes along with the inviting environment.

At least that is how I personally see it.
Everyone here is much friendlier than on the old forums.

It depends on what they want from a site. If they want a modestly tight-knit community, this can work out for them.

Now you’ve hit the nail on the head, haha. I would say the community and the resources. I feel like it’s an especially good place for aspiring writers just starting out. I think most people here are happy to help and socialise with fellow creators.

There was a time that I had posted stories on FictionPress and years before that FanFiction.net.

I posted a few stories on Wattpad in it’s earlier years.

I’d say to make connections and meet other writers.

I’m mainly on Wattpad - most of my work is there and also contractually there. But I’m also on radish and inkitt!

How you found the site

Someone in my Wattpad friends list posted an announcement about it shortly after the official forums closed, and I was like Omg yes!

What you like about it

I love talking to you guys about writing, reading, publishing, and real world issues

Tell me if you have an IG username

I deleted my IG a month or two ago since I rarely used it

Why should someone join Wacky?

Writing is such a lonely endeavor that you really need someone to talk to who understands the frustrations of being a writer or you’d go nutz…well, I would

Where do you share your writing if at all?

I’ve posted one book on Wattpad; the other eight are for sale on Amazon

1. How you found the site

Through their account on wattpad.

2. What you like about it

The engagement with other writers and ability to discuss writter things with other people that understand.

Just put anon wacky.

4. Why should someone join Wacky?

Because the community is very nice and chill and it really helps with writing if you have people you can talk to about it.

5. Where do you share your writing if at all?

I’ve tried wattpad, inkitt, ao3, and wackywriters.

Everyone is welcome to promote. In fact, we encourage it. :joy: You never have to ask. We just don’t “push” people to promote to avoid being obnoxious.
