Anastasia
I like her for her strength and kindness. She powers through and doesn’t give up. And yet, she knows when she must ask for help.
Anastasia Nikolaeva used to be a nurse working at a hospital in the cold, snow country of Roktia. But after Roktia fell into poverty, she was kidnapped along with her husband to be a slave in Arcanland working at the plantation of a wealthy, greedy man. The story begins with her escape.
“That is good. I would not like to be like any of them. I am my own person.”
Anastasia is married to Kostya, the love of her life. They’ve known each other for a long time and both love to travel, so probably met during one of their travels. Maybe on a ship. But Kostya is missing and Anastasia must find him. But what if she can’t? Will she move on? She might be able to, eventually, but it would certainly be hard even for someone like her who has a strong heart.
Anastasia has the ability to come in contact with the spirit realm although her ability is too weak to make her a medium. She would have become one is she used her ability more, but she never did. And so, she just has it like a strong sixth sense.
Anastasia is very pretty for Roktion standards. She used to be sought after in her teenage years and famously turned everyone away. She was going to find the love of her life her own way and eventually, the wait paid off.
Anastasia was close to her mother who was also a nurse. They would often be called sisters. Anastasia has many, many younger cousins who lived in the same mansion and so, she took care of them.
She has an estranged older brother whom the family never talks about.
Her biological father died in the war when she was little, so she has no memory of him. The man her mother remarried to is who she considers her father. He owns the hospital she would eventually work at. He’s very supportive of her.
I didn’t know about Anastasia’s biological father, her stepfather, and about the hospital owned by him until now

Ariella a.k.a Ella a.k.a Ria
Hmm Probably her twisted youth and how she was able to learn to mask to be “normal” for society.
Ariella is her full name, but she goes by Ella these days. She’s a housewife because her husband is an architect and is the breadwinner. Ella prefers to stay at home with her kids and work on her indoor garden.
“Is that a compliment or an insult?”
Ariella does love her husband, but it took her a long time to get here. She used to struggle with her obsessive love for her brother. It’s familial love, but she was over-the-top.
By touching someone, she can get glimpses into their past and learn a little about them.
Ariella was a cute girl who turned into an average beauty. She has a small nose and a bit of a babyface.
Ariella has to always be mindful of her emotions because she can be over-the-top especially when it comes to familial love.
Ariella doesn’t care what others think at all. If someone dares to challenge her, she would calmly take herself out of that situation and put that person on her mental hit list. She may or may not consider their death.
Ariella wasn’t close to either of her parents. She found solace with her brother, and the servants’ children or her tutor. Home life held expectations over her head to be a lady who would one day marry a wealthy man. She never wanted to be a proper lady and preferred running around in the woods and playing with dead things. She would catalogue poisonous mushrooms by force-feeding them to animals she caught.
Ariella was always obsessed with dead things, poison, and bones, and she would eventually find her way into witchcraft and voodoo. Her teenage years were filled with obsessive and dark poetry written on every surface of her room, romance novels, and books on raising the dead or resurrection. For the last one, mainly because she would long believe her brother had died and wanted him back.
Richard is Ariella’s brother. He would die in front of her twice, but it was faked. He did it to cut himself off from her for various reasons.
Ariella eventually becomes more clever about hiding her true self and seems normal. She gets her education and then travels the world. During her travels, she would meet her future husband.

She’s extremely outgoing and social. If provoked, she will fight. This is especially true if someone she cares about is hurt.
