hey, no worries! I just wanted to make sure that you knew I wouldn’t mind you saying, if you had indeed decided against it :joy:

you’re gonna hate me… :joy: I really like the vector one, except the silhouette isn’t quite right :face_with_peeking_eye: yet considering how long it took you to find something acceptable…I wonder if perhaps it might be a lost cause  I’ll think about it and let you know! I feel really bad making you waste your time with this when you could perhaps help other people :face_holding_back_tears:

everything else is super cool tho, the background and the colours and the lights :pinched_fingers:

Ah no, it’s perfectly fine! I did choose to tackle this project after all, it’s my job to make sure you get the cover you want

The silhouette would actually be easier to change than the other elements :eyes: I did have other pictures that could serve as a replacement; you can let me know if any of these might work!

I can edit the posture and colors and some other stuff so you wouldn’t have to worry about that too much, just need to know if these would serve a good “base” for the silhouette.

Also, I just noticed that you haven’t completed the preliminary payment  you did the first two chapters but forgot to leave 2+ comments on Chapter III.

I think the black dress in all the greenery might be closest to what I need…the skirt needs to be a little flatter at the back, bit wider at the bottom, and shoulders a bit bigger.

But I think I might have found something that could help…these are 1893-1894 fashion plates from the Met Museum website and it says they’re in the public domain. Maybe you can use one of these?

https://libmma.contentdm.oclc.org/digital/search/searchterm/1893-1894/field/title/mode/all/page/1

These are a few that I really like:

If these work for you, the Met has an entire collection online organised by year: https://www.metmuseum.org/art/libraries-and-research-centers/watson-digital-collections/costume-institute-collections/costume-institute-fashion-plates

I should be able to finish chapter III today or tomorrow

Oh, definitely! I wish I thought of this resource sooner :woman_facepalming:

Monday is my designated tea bar + laptop day so I should finish the changes by then

Awesome, thanks!

And thank you again for your patience

Honestly, same :joy::joy::joy: this is like…the motherload of historical fashion research! It’s always quite the challenge to describe their clothes lol. I’m glad it came to mind!

Thanks a lot for everything

I am also wondering if, for the next one, it might be easier to manip a fashion plate figure? I don’t know how this whole process works lol, I really like how the vector one came out, I just want it to be as simple as possible for you, too.

If the fashion plates work, I’ll pick out some for 1895 & 1896 for the next two.

I think they’ll work! You can totally pick some out for the next two ^-^

All right, no problem! I’ll deep dive into it this week. I’m actually so excited, this is an amazing resource :rofl::rofl:

I scrolled through the 1893-4 ones

and I found this one which almost pretty much matches the perspective you already have:

(And how amazing is that suit?!)

And these 2 have the parasols and the hats, which are very cute. If she’s out walking, she does need a hat :face_with_hand_over_mouth: Second one looks like a bold young lady!

Okay I will shut up now, I’m supposed to be working :rofl: Thank you!!

LE: I’ve also added new inspo pics directly to the other 2 requests

Resized for Inkitt

Finally done! Open the image in a new tab to download the best quality

I’ll get started on the next ones! So I’m assuming we’ll be going forward with the vector style? :eyes:

Oh…she’s beautiful :face_holding_back_tears::face_holding_back_tears::face_holding_back_tears::face_holding_back_tears::face_holding_back_tears: Thank you so much, I love it!!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Yes, vector style or whatever comes easiest to you to make it as similar to this one as possible. I think for the second one that first plate I shared will be perfect, I won’t nitpick about the fur lol :see_no_evil:

Also, can I share it on Instagram? Do you have a profile I could tag? I made a new one for historical fiction/fashion stuff and I’d like to make a post with the cover and the fashion plate :face_holding_back_tears:

oh, just one thing, because I noticed just now that Inkitt cuts it off a little, and that’s too bad because it’s so good…their cover editor says min resolution 500 x 800px, and max 8000 x 8000px. should it be resized a little bit to display better?

Thanks, I’m glad you like it!

Sure thing! I don’t have an Instagram account but you can just direct them to my Wattpad profile (:

Oof, I guess I could resize it, but tbh I don’t see much of an issue with the Inkitt cutoff since the text is still there :see_no_evil: I can do it but it might take a little longer, especially since I’ll be busy with something else today.

By the way, payment for the third cover will be to read and leave 2+ comments each on the next three chapters of Blood Will Tell (so chapters IV, V, and VI). I hope that sounds fair :joy:

Oh, okay, it’s not a major issue since it only cuts a little bit off of the streetlight on the left side, but it’s just so pretty it deserves to be displayed in its full glory :face_holding_back_tears: But it’s really no big deal if it’s not a quick fix! We can just take the sizing into account for the next ones.

Sure thing  I’ll get to it within the week I think.

Hi there! I know you are currently closed for catchup but I have a quick question! I saw that you made The Spying Cat for Inkitt, would you be able to make graphics (probably just the cover) for Honeyfeed?

I don’t know what Honeyfeed is, so you’ll have to post a request when I open shop later for me to decide

EDIT: I just Googled and found out it’s a story sharing site, I thought it was the title of one of your stories :woman_facepalming: but as long as it’s not monetized I can make a cover for that! Just give me the dimensions for the cover and make sure to credit me somewhere

Haha, no worries!

It’s not monetized but it will be entering a contest to become monetized (should it win) but by that time, I will (hopefully) already requested a commercial digital art cover.

And of course, just lemme know when you re-open, please! <3

Hello~ in case you haven’t started out on this one already, I found a couple more references that I think might work better

I love the colours and the pose in this one, it'sa little bit more different/special, these fashion plate ladies all get posed the same lol

Fashion plate from La Moda Elegante Ilustrada · SPARC Digital

And I absolutely love this dress lol, I would wear it today, love the irises in the corner, and the pose with the hat + parasol (ie, she's out on the town). But I would prefer kind of a red colour theme, because you know...murder

Fashion plate from Journal des Demoiselles · SPARC Digital

Sorry if I’m being annoying at this point :joy::joy:
I promise I will complete payment before Monday
