Some unusual topics I researched for the characters’ background histories, and future incidents:
*What are the medical / proper names, common / collocal names, and functions of the posterior fornix?
*What are the causes and symptoms of a high / excessive sex drive?
*How uncomfortable, or perhaps painful, are ovulation cramps (when a large lopsided ovum is the culprit)?
*Which V8 engines were used in the 1994 and 2014 era HSV sedans?
*How heavy is a HSV without the engine, wheels, or seats, and how would this affect the HSV’s centre of balance?
*What is the striking speed of an Australian King Brown snake? (~1.5m/ps…death moves fast down here…)
*Are there any natural supplements or herbs that enhance male testosterone, libido, and ejaculate volume? (The personal doctor of Dov’s high school FWB was just a cheeky kama sutra / tantric evangelist who had a hobby in medicine…Dov also encountered an Army nurse counterpart of this doctor in Afghanistan, who taught Dov some interesting massage techniques for stiff muscles…)
Oh, just discovered that King Brown snakes are not found around the east coast / Northern Tablelands regions of Australia…Yay…But the more dangerous Eastern Brown snakes are very common in this area (especially around South-East Queensland)…Not Yay…

I was trying to find the common thread and it was like a where’s Waldo game, haha. Writing is such a puzzle!
The common thread is Dov, his history, and his likely future interactions with Krista and Freyja.
Warning: Wall of rambling text within
*After a disastrous first attempt with sex, the teenage (abundantly male) Dov learnt why the cervix should be avoided at all costs though interacting with the posterior fornix is thoroughly recommended.
*Krista’s attributes justify her excessive (even by Israeli standards) flirtatious nature, being exceedingly fit and intelligent (the common causes of high sex drives). However, Freyja has beyond-human levels of fitness and intelligence and, once her body ‘awakes’ completely and realises this, she could become a Super-Saiyan Krista…Poor Dov…
*In the long-overdue chapter I’m currently drafting, Krista suffers a sudden crippling ovulation cramp that causes a major accident, and almost results in the trio being badly wounded if not crushed.
*Also in the overdue chapter, Krista introduces Dov to her extended family’s car collection. In particular, 1994/96 era racing-tuned HSV that is receiving an engine upgrade…The (1994) 5L / 308 Holden V8 swapped for the (2014) supercharged 6.2L LSA V8, with double the power output…
*The HSV is precariously balanced on a ageing car lift, with the engine and interior removed.
*During Dov’s childhood, he saved his youngest sister from a Brown snake by catching the snake’s head in mid-air and crushing the snake’s skull in his fist in one movement. After that day, all of the farm’s animals and wildlife knew to never cross the gentle giant. Oh, Dov grew up on a farm about an hour’s drive west of Toowoomba, Queensland.
*Continuing with the first point, in a medical consultation after Dov’s blunderbuss first intimate encounter, his informal / part-time girlfriend and her GP encouraged Dov to train for the Commandos while in high school, and to not be discouraged by last night’s events or his newly diagnosed macro-member (exact quote from the doctor’s notes). The GP put Dov on a tailored diet to improve his chances for recruitment in the Commandos (increasing Dov’s already high testosterone and wound recovery, enhancing his muscle growth and endurance, etc). However, the GP omitted two significant side effects of her dietary prescriptions, and Dov’s high school nickname of ASH (Australian Stock Horse) was soon justified…And, yes, Krista later discovers Dov’s training diet in his high school journals, and Dov’s protein shakes gain a familiar under-taste…

Whether or not it’s weird is subjective, but today I looked up films that are in the public domain in the United States with the intention of referencing some of them in a future story.
