Struggling Writers’ Daily Den: rant, share, complain, ask, daily progress thing (Part 1)

More like sheer stubborn and can outlast natural stamina.

Turns out the stomach bug we got on the way home was COVID-19 (everyone is doing well), what this experience gave me was a false sense of being well because a low grade fever with a cough had more energy to spare than 12+ hours of Disney hell. Joint ache from illness can’t touch the feeling of my ankles having “ground away all the cartilage”.

I had to force myself to go to bed so I didn’t cause a relapse of the more severe symptoms. You exert yourself with this type of illness, it comes back in you twice as hard.

We lost my sister-in-law’s son earlier that day, but he was more quickly found. The part that messed with me is that I was in no shape to go look for her. It took me about a half an hour to recover enough to function and she was found before then.

My depression makes it really hard to write. For some people it’s an absolute motivation, but my brain moves so slowly I constantly misspell words or get the wrong word entirely. AHHHHH. Brain broke.

Edit: Why writing this I had to edit because I used the wrong form of ‘write’ (right) as a proper example lmao.

I hope you feel better <3

Well looks like my reading gears are really cranking, because five chapters read has now turned into nearly twenty. Perhaps I can double that number by tonight, within the next fourteen-ish hours

So, if I won’t make it as a writer, at least my editing efforts really help us with composting. The print-out text, once I’m done with my corrections, supplies everything we’ll ever need to line the small composting bucket.

Aaaaand I’ve read 47 chapters worth of Wattpad books  I’ve more than doubled the amount of chapters I’ve read. That may or may not be my daily record. Hoping to wake up early tomorrow so I can continue steamrolling through books :fire:

My fault for trying to explain that wi-fi is not a cloud…

Lesson learned.

And I’m sick. I’m waiting for tests results. Fingers crossed.

It’s official.

COVID got me at last. I guess can’t run from it forever.

Aww, sorry to hear that. Covid sucks.

How does a song from an artist I don’t like inspire me to write a story based around that song?

Sometimes it’s how it is.

It’s really strange. It’s clear that these later strains are not near as serious. I can genuinely say that I’ve had worse flus, stomach bugs, and head colds as a child. But it is different. Feel like a dragon whose lungs are smouldering: irritation has a low-burn quality to it that is not like anything else. It really helped that the first symptoms were stomach bugesque, for whatever this variant was.

I cant write again. BUT HEY I GOT A FEW SENTENCES DONE YESTERDAY.

Nice! I mean, a few sentences are better than no words at all. Keep it up! I’ve managed to publish a chapter recently, but there have been times where I haven’t written a single word of my story for months :stuck_out_tongue:

On a separate note, I’m contemplating moving my crazy binge from this month to next month instead :thonk:

I’m currently in a Wattpad book club where the bare minimum is to read six chapters a month, two from the Book of the Month, and four from any book of your choosing as long as it’s on the list of approved books. However, the way it’s structured makes you want to binge as many chapters as possible at times :joy:

I’ve already read more than forty chapters—which also gives me a chance at being Book of the Month next month, albeit a small chance—and read the minimum of two from the Book of the Month, and I only need to read a few chapters from my partnership and I’ll be done with June’s assignment. I was considering doing another crazy binge in June and drastically increasing my chances at getting Book of the Month. However, with the little time I have left—mostly due to me procrastinating on reading during the first three weeks of the month—I’ve decided to postpone my crazy binge to next month, assuming I don’t get Book of the Month for July, which is likely.

I guess I can focus the few days I have on writing then.
