My promotional campaign’s ignominious end:

Me: well, you‘re a teen. Go install TikTok then teach me how to use it.

kiddo (14): No! Mom! Have some dignity & stay away from that cesspool.

me: but… books… promo, it’s like IG of tomorrow… or yesterday.

kiddo: Mom, everyone in my class who’s on TokTok is a weirdo!

Me:…

Kiddo: mom, don’t you dare to install it!

I can’t even decide what narrative to put my story in, unfortunately.

Maybe write your first chapter in both? Or, like 1K words… it might help to chose. Basically, if I know I have lots of scenery or creatures to describe, I would do 3rd. If it’s all emotions/action, then 1st.

Anyone knows what the “Wattpad Bootcamp” is? I never liked the word “Bootcamp”

If that’s what I am doing, it is a series of workshops in April with guaranteed feedback on blurb synopsis, etc with an ultimate goal to get a mentorship from one of the big authors from May till submission to prep the book for Watty submission

I wanna do it in 3rd person because the story calls for it but I want to see what it would be like in 1st person.

I hate feeling conflicted. I seriously do hate it.

Didn’t really got much done today, but I am taking the rest of the week off to watch World Championships, so I low key hope to finish the draft of Raised by the Mafia.

Got some work done (about 1.2k words since my last update), mostly just keeping tensions high while slowly starting the cascade of events that’ll eventually lead to the end of the first third of the novel. I’ll probably be writing less for my WIP in the coming months, mostly because I have a project for my literature class that requires us to write a short 15 minute film. I’m a bit stressed but also excited to test my writing skills to see how well I can write a short movie script.

I am emotionally exhausted by watching the competition today, because one of the Figure skaters that I low key worship didn’t do well. She is undeniably the most athletically gifted woman that ever competed in Figure skating, but proving it in competition is eluding her. It is maddening & heart-breaking. But, other than that, it’s been a long and fun day…

I didn’t write as much as I wanted though. Got to 64K today, and hoping to finish the fighting part to enter the Last Confrontation before the basically denouement and tying up all the lose ends/love story ending.

Really pushing to finish the draft, because once it’s done, I have to focus on editing and posting Lone Werewolf, if I am to apply for mentorship for it! Tentatively, I want to be posting it over a few days in April, before re-establishing a 2x a week posting routine for Raised by the Mafia

Still have more planning to do, along with making changes to the story. Far as story outlines go, I am nowhere near done with mine. :pensive:

Hello, how is everyone?

Hello. I am fine. I am going back and forth between writing chapter one and browsing the internet.
I really gotta stop multitasking.

Lol multitasking can be so fun though

I guess so. I just get distracted during writing time and all I want to do is focus mainly on that.

I was so happy when I finally finished a rough draft of a book that took me YEARS to even start. Came through in the end around 85k words.
But I have to revise it now… and I haven’t picked it up in months :sob:
