What are your projects and favorite things? And let's chat :D

darkwear is clothes with a dark colour palette, usually black. People who use the term often incorporate it with a streetwear/techwear style.

i like it bc i like being a creechur of th dark and also i’m too lazy to figure out what brighter colours look good on me.

Haha, yeah. xD At the time, I came across a lot of whodunit and cabin in the woods stories that weren’t exactly living up to my expectations, so I decided to write my own based around elements I liked and thought could be good when featured in such a story. Though, honestly, whenever I do think back at it… I could see so many ways it could’ve gone and made it so much better. I feel like the ending was a complete mess even though, at the time, I enjoyed it. xD Guess that’s what happens when you grow as a writer haha.

Haha same. It’s my favorite trope in thrillers haha.

I’ve also never seen Evil Dead but according to Google, it does appear to be a cabin story.

Horror is one of my favorite genres, though I’ve avoided many (mostly in the entertainment industry) because of how awful they seem to be unfortunately. And it feels like Hollywood keeps butchering the title…

Do you read any horror novels? It’s a genre I don’t pick up often (novel form) because I can never find anything that seems scary enough. Mostly everything that’s marketed as horror comes off as thriller or suspenseful, not… scary. And even then, about more than half of what I see in stores is stuff by Stephen King. :upside_down_face:

What are your favorites?

Mine are...

Final Destination (the third is my favorite among the series).

Stay Alive.

Alien (the series is so good, but you know, I gotta love the first one. I also wish they could make a movie based off the video game Alien: Isolation because I would fall in love with it easily lol).

Hush.

1408.

Oh, it’s so good! I even got my little sister to read it, and she’s not a big reader at all. She’s currently on the sequel, almost finished with it (she’s been reading it for a few days), and she’s begging me to buy her her own copy of the third book which comes out at the end of August.

I feel that. I like romance, but not by itself. I’m okay with it as a movie genre, mostly in PG-13 form, but in books? Alone? Nah. I’ll only ever read it as a subgenre. I mean, I’ve picked up some books with heavy romances as part of the main plot, but it didn’t really focus solely on the romance itself, you know? And that, I’m okay with. But I can’t pick up a book where I know it’s only about the romance and that’s it. Haha.

Haha, definitely! xD

Ooh, sounds like a really great way to write one. :smirk:

:scream: Sounds so cool!!

What got you inspired to write it?

I loved the first series of Warrior Cats and Firepaw/Fireheart :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Warrior Cats with Minecraft? :open_mouth: Never heard of a combination like that before. That sounds so interesting! Is he the only one that ends up there or are you planning on sending anyone else through?

And what do you usually watch on YouTube?

I like Data, too! He’s often saving the day. And he has a cat :stuck_out_tongue: I like cats and characters that have cats. What was the cat’s name? I keep forgetting.

Ahh, I see. I looked up techwear. It’s pretty cool. I don’t wear a lot of black, but I did have a long phase of all beige and would wear beige clothes all the time. These days, it’s dark blue and pale yellow. I don’t venture into such bright colors either :stuck_out_tongue: They intimidate me.

I have a friend who can pull off any bright color. Once she was wearing bright yellow socks and a bright green skirt. I could never XD

I see. Working on it today?

Sort of yeah. I have an idea for a memoir of a character. I don’t think that it’s weird.

Ehem, you should, for the experience. I will say though that the amount of blood in that movie gets to such a point that it really seems too fake to be close to real. Horror movies, you know, they often make effort to at least give some realness, right? Even with the ghost ones. But Evil Dead was kind of… But you should see it if you get the chance :stuck_out_tongue:

Me, too! And I also avoid many like those that focus on torture like SAW. I also can’t watch the camera-perspective ones because I get motion sickness  Are there particular kinds of horror you tend to avoid?

In Japanese, I used to a lot. In English…I don’t. Or, well, I don’t know :stuck_out_tongue: I don’t go to the horror section to pick up books because I don’t know what’s good other than Stephen King. I know he’s a major horror writer, but I’m kind of more interested in reading non-mainstream horror authors.

Yes, this! I do seem to end up with thrillers or mysteries that touch on the horror side, but they’re categorized as thrillers or mysteries. Maybe a little suspenseful but not entirely scary. I didn’t find Mexican Gothic scary or creepy enough. Have you read it?

Exactly. There’s usually an entire bookshelf dedicated to his stuff. I think I’ve watched most of the books :stuck_out_tongue: I regretted watching Dreamcatcher though. That was unnecessarily brutal.

Mine

Hmm…
Any movies related to The Conjuring. So, The Nun, Annabelle, The Conjuring 1 and 2. Idk if I’ve seen all of them yet.

Dark Skies, The Orphanage (Spanish movie), The Witch (or The VVitch), Midsommar (idk if I would put it in my favorites…kind of indecisive about that, but it’s worth mentioning), Insidious, The Last Exorcism (I went to watch the preview to see if I’ve seen it and now I want to see it again :stuck_out_tongue: )

Deliver Us From Evil (Such a good twist on the usual possession movies. From the perspective of the policeman who doesn’t believe in the evil. You know those guys. They don’t think it’s anything paranormal. The Japanese title of this movie was what intrigued me. “NY Psychic Police Investigator”. Highly recommend.)

Generally, if there’s possession, an exorcism, creepy asylum, demons, evil spirits, I’ve probably seen it.

Same here. Same.

Thank you! Well, it’s an interesting story :stuck_out_tongue:

Story Time

Long story short, my own book inspired me for Book 1 and someone’s comment on an old cover inspired Book 2.

First, you have to know about “The Facade of Quad in Nimrod” which was inspired by the vibes of Honore de Balzac’s Father Goriot. It’s about one rich family’s demise, basically, written as a lit fic satire. It’s omniscient and in there is an assassin organization led by a charismatic man called Richard who seemingly has supernatural powers and no last name.

I’d always been interested in writing a story where Richard is the focus. He never targets poor people, only the rich. He’s supposedly immortal and he can see the future in glimpses. The book ends with him about to embark to United Arcan to destroy a good seer which he can sense.

Years after finishing The Facade of Quad in Nimrod, I started writing Their Posthumous Lives with the subtitle of “They were alive at crepuscular” (the first book at the time) and the first cover I made for the book, someone commented that the coloring (reddish background with mustard-yellow words) and the demonic hands looked kind of Egyptian.

I thought in a squeaky voice: Huh! Interesting!

Then I got the idea of turning Their Posthumous Lives into a duology where the final battle takes place in Iptaj. Then I called the first book Alive At Crepusculum, and the second book, Dead By Sunrise, and the duology is Their Posthumous Lives duology.

If they are alive before sunrise, they would be dead by sunrise. Posthumous is a play on humorous and posthumous because it still is a bit satire.

And, if you couldn’t tell from my movies, I like the idea of demons XD Although, my demons are nothing like the animalistic ones in the movies.

Name: Stella
Pronouns: She/Her
Country: Philippines and Indonesia. It’s complicated :joy:
Projects: (novel writing, photography, screenwriting, knitting, etc. List as many as you want, but do make sure to use the “Hide Details” feature to avoid making something too long. In the case of writing, give title, genre, and one interesting thing about the project.)

Project 1: Blood Will Tell

Title: Blood Will Tell
Genre: (Dark) Fantasy
One Interesting Thing: It’s going to be my first longer piece of work with a mainly adult cast.

Project 2: Prelude No. 20 in C Minor by Chopin

So I aim to learn at least one new piano piece per semester. This semester, one of the new pieces I aim to play is Chopin’s Prelude Op. 28 No. 20 in C Minor. I’ve actually memorized all the notes; I just need to play it smoothly and refine my interpretation so it’s presentable XD

Project 3: Another Mystery Piece

I’m saying “another” because I have already recorded a mystery piece, but nobody who’s been on my personal thread has managed to crack the code yet ;-; I won’t name who the composer is of this other mystery piece I’ll be working on, you’ll find out when I want you to find out

A few favorite things:

  • Favorite Color: Red. Although blue overtakes its place sometimes.
  • Favorite Anime: SPY x FAMILY. And Loid is by far my favorite character, he’s just so my type  I definitely have not made him my Discord profile pic at one point :flushed:
  • Favorite Character I’ve Created: Eddie

Well, obviously you exist in two places at once. It’s a common superpower :stuck_out_tongue:

What are your thoughts on purple?

Omg I haven’t been on here in a while. Thank you!!! Ooh what’s her full name?

It was always that title! I came up with it due to the theme. The prequel is called Blooming Flower (the sequel is called Wilted Petals. Kinda made that confusing). My FMC is my blooming flower, and the MMC is her sunshine that helps her grow. After a series of events, we lead into the sequel, and her petals are wilted. And i love the maturity and how we see the characters grow differently in the sequel

Also, coffee with just milk

The only one, but I did end up writing a character with the name of his sister so now whenever someone says her name he keeps getting confused and thinking that his sister somehow found the portal, when it’s just another cat with the same name.

Minecraft, Among Us, Zelda, Sims 4, vlogs, and sometimes music based videos.

Her name is Abhishree

Will there be another book after or is it a duology?

Aw, that sounds so nice :relaxed:

Does he actually have a sister, or is this something you made up?

I stopped reading Warrior Cats after a while, so I have no idea XD

Yeah, he has a kittypet sister.

He might have other siblings but tbh I forget-

I think I remember that…

Is that the time when he goes and finds his sister who has a son?

That’s Cloudpaw, right? Cloud…what was his warrior name? Cloudtail?

Yes to all of those :eyes:

Yeah, I remembered!

It’s been so long since I read it.

(I did cheat a little. I looked up Cloudpaw’s warrior name to be sure.)

Lol, it was Spot. I remember because Data wrote a poem that was called “an ode to Spot”.

Gorgeous name! And yes, it’s a duology  And thanks for the compliments and faith

Oh yeah! That’s right! And I remember that poem XD

A striped cat called Spot. Do you know the story of how he got the cat and who named her? I never saw that episode.

Those are nice colours! Bright colours definitely take confidence, I have some pretty bright pieces and I’m always hesitant about wearing them out. As much as I like dressing up and wearing cool outfits, I really hate being looked at and bright colours draw attention

I’m telling you, it’s all about confidence. Have you ever seen cybergoth fashion? Or harajuku? That shit is so bright and like the complete opposite of each other but they both look so cool. And there’s nothing special about the people wearing it, they’re just wearing it 'cause they like it.
